Bay Area girl meets Bay Area boy in high school. She is completely unaware that years later they would reconnect and she would become the future Mrs. Jones as their friendship develops. During football season she is his cheerleader, making sure that he has a boutonniere (nothing as fancy as it sounds-just a carnation or whatever was cheapest at the local supermarket) and goodies like brownies, cupcakes or cookies. She goes to his junior prom. Still just friends, still unknowing. He graduates, starts the next phase of his life. They remain friends, still clueless. Life goes on.

I am starting this blog to chronicle this new adventurous chapter of my life. Becoming Mrs. Jones will focus on the daily joy, anxiety, excitement, challenges and generally an outlet for me to work through not being one of those otherwise lovely women who turn into bitch brides from hell that no one wants to be around. In polite company they are called “bridezilla,” it is my daily prayer that I do not become that girl.
This is also a place where I will happily share some of the more “colorful” (code for “are you fucking kidding me?”) comments that I receive when I share news of my engagement. I have a growing list and I’m sure it will continue to grow as time passes—so keep them coming people!
