Who Should Write Your Thank You Notes

By Future Mrs. Jones | February 20, 2009

Do you think it is cheating to have a company like Red Stamp create your wedding thank you cards?  The do everything, their motto is:

It’s the thought that counts. So let us help you wow them with your amazing wit. For only $5 per item we will hand-write your message, hand-address + stamp the envelope. We’ll mail your card on the date you select.

My understanding is that you can even choose masculine or feminine penmanship….

Brides and Emily Post wanna-be’s I want to hear from you, is this “cheating” or not?  Does it matter who does the actual writing as long as the thank you’s go out in a reasonable time?

I think that’s cheating. Plus, what if they tell you they didn’t recognize your handwriting. You’d be totally busted!

I kind of think it’s cheating, but I might change my mind after we get married in December and we actually have to sit and write them all ourselves. Is “chicken scratch” penmanship also an option?

I guess it depends on how soon you want to get them out after the wedding! People need to realize that you are a busy working woman, and if you get a few out a night for a week (or weeks depending on how many gifts you get) You”l be done in no time!

You know, you could just bring the envelopes for the thank you cards to the wedding and have each guest address it for you. That would save some time, don’t you think? :-)
